Who was Socrates

Socrates never wrote anything: he spent his days in the streets of Athens asking questions that showed people they did not know what they thought they knew. Accused of corrupting the young and disrespecting the gods, he was condemned to drink hemlock. We know his ideas through Plato and Xenophon, and he became the symbol of the philosopher.

Core ideas
